This 8-week advanced course explores professional-level music creation for video games, led by industry composer Johnny Lucas. Students will dive into adaptive music systems, advanced composition, orchestration, mixing, and sound design while learning how music responds dynamically to gameplay in Unreal Engine 5.
Working with industry tools such as DAWs, Wwise, and Unreal Engine 5, students will build and implement interactive music systems using techniques like layering, transitions, and real-time audio control. By the end of the course, students will have created a fully functional adaptive music system inside a playable game environment, showcasing a complete understanding of the game audio pipeline from composition to implementation.
This course is designed for students aged 16+ with prior music production or composition experience who want to advance their skills in game audio, interactive music, and professional music production workflows. Familiarity with a DAW and basic music theory or MIDI programming is strongly recommended.
