WEEK BY WEEK

Two tracks, same foundation

The Youth track explores creativity through play and discovery. The Adults track moves faster and digs into the technical side — built for returning musicians and curious beginners who want the studio finally explained in plain English.

Weeks 1-2

Getting to Know the Studio

We’ll explore how a real recording studio works! Students will learn the language, how to use microphones, headphones, and recording software while getting comfortable creating in a fun, supportive environment.

Weeks 3-4

Recording & Creating

Time to jump in! Students will record their voices and instruments, learn how to layer sounds, and start building their own mini projects.

Weeks 5-6

Voice & Songwriting | DJing

Students will explore two different creative paths across these weeks. In week 5, they’ll dive into writing lyrics, creating melodies, and recording vocals. In week 6, we’ll explore DJing — mixing songs, matching beats, and building a simple set.

Weeks 7-8

Music Production | Game & Film Scoring

Students will explore two more creative paths. In week 7, they’ll create beats and build tracks from scratch. In week 8, they’ll experiment with music for film and video games, learning how to make sounds that tell a story.

Weeks 1-2

Getting Set Up & Recording Basics

Which DAW should I use, and how does everything work? Learn how to record your voice or instrument clearly and confidently, and set up your space to actually start creating.

Weeks 3-4

From Idea to Song

How do I turn a voice note, chord, or melody into music? Start building real song ideas from what you sing or play, and learn how songs are actually written.

Weeks 5-6

Building a Full Track

How do I turn a small idea into a finished song? Work with vocals and/or instruments to build structure, arrangement, and momentum.

Weeks 7-8

Making It Sound Finished

How do I make my music sound like a real recording? Learn simple mixing techniques to balance vocals and instruments, and complete a track you’re proud of.
